A pedestrian was left hospitalised with injuries to his head and foot after a car crash last night (Wednesday, September 11).
Around 6.10pm last night, a man was standing next to his car, parked half on the kerb of Brotton's High Street, in the Redcar & Cleveland district, when a Volkswagen Polo crashed into him.
The 36-year-old was rushed to nearby James Cook University Hospital by paramedics with injuries to his head and foot. The woman driving the car isn’t believed to have sustained any injuries.
The driver, a woman, is not believed to have sustained any injuries in the collision.
Police officers are now investigating the collision and are appealing for witnesses and footage.

PC Steven Lake, of Cleveland Police’s roads policing unit, said: “While our enquiries are ongoing, I want to take this opportunity to encourage members of the public who may have been in the area at the time the collision occurred, to get in touch.
“Perhaps you saw the collision take place or have dash cam, doorbell or CCTV footage that could assist the investigation.
