A man has been arrested following a violent incident in Hartlepool that saw police cordon off a property.
Officers from Cleveland Police attended a house on Grange Road in Hartlepool at about 8.40pm on Wednesday (August 14), following reports of a violent incident.
During the incident, police reassured people who live near Grange Road, by saying: "there is no threat to the wider public, however, police remain at the scene."

Issuing an update later in the evening, Cleveland Police said: "The incident in Grange Road, Hartlepool, has now been brought to a safe conclusion.
"A man has been arrested on suspicion of Assault and Criminal Damage and he has been taken to custody.
"Any witnesses are asked to contact Cleveland Police via 101."
