A man has been arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining order after attempting to evade police at a North East beach.
Cleveland Police confirmed a man, 34, was arrested at the beach, near to Brus Tunnel in Hartlepool, on Wednesday (August 14).
They said man made off from police as they attempted to arrested him, before running into the sea where he remained for a short time.

He was arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining order and causing a public nuisance.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Officers in Hartlepool arrested a 34-year-old man at the beach near to Brus Tunnel this afternoon, Wednesday 14 August.
“The man made off from police as they attempted to arrested him, then ran into the sea, where he remained for a short time before he was eventually arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining order and causing a public nuisance.”
