A Darlington church is to host an evening of Spanish guitar music.
Guitarist Michael Macdonald will be performing a free concert of popular works for the Spanish guitar at Holy Trinity Church, Woodland Road, Darlington, on Wednsday, August 21, from 7.30pm.
The repertoire for the evening will include familiar classical compositions from the likes of JS Bach, Tárrega and Barrios, as well as some arrangements of traditional flamenco palos.
Mr Macdonald, originally from Glasgow, studied and taught classical guitar in Cambridge and London before moving to Madrid, Spain.
He is a teacher, performer and composer and is a member of the Madrid Guitar Orchestra.
Mike has spent the summer in Darlington with his wife, Sarah, whose family is from the Cockerton area.
The pair were delighted to be the first couple to be married on the stage at the Darlington Hippodrome in 2019.
Entry is free, although donations to church funds will be gratefully received.
