Three people have been arrested after crime scene investigators (CSI) descended on a row of shops and houses and have been surveying the scene over the last two days.
The specialist police teams have been focusing their investigation on the Yarm Lane area of Stockton - with Cleveland Police saying that the incident involves 'complex circumstances'.
It's understood that crime scene specialists have been at the scene since Wednesday (July 10).
Cleveland Police have confirmed that three people – a 35-year-old man and two women aged 41 and 20 – have been arrested whilst enquiries continue.
The nature of this incident isn't known at this time.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Cleveland Police is continuing to work with partner agencies to understand the complex circumstances around the ongoing investigation that is centred around the Yarm Lane area of Stockton."
