The Met Office has predicted a cooler weekend as the region recovers from warmer weather than Barcelona earlier in the week.
The full forecast for the weekend for Durham, Darlington and Richmond is below, with lows of less than 10°C expected across the region on Saturday.
Darlington:
Saturday: High of 18°C, low of 9°C. Sunny intervals changing to cloudy by late morning. 10% chance of rain.
Sunday: High of 17°C, low of 11°C. Sunny intervals changing to cloudy by late morning. 10% chance of rain.

Durham:

But, don't fret, another heatwave could soon be on its way as WXCharts has predicted the UK would see temperatures reach 26C in July with temperatures increasing at the start of the month.
