A HAWKSHEAD pub has re-opened with 16 newly refurbished guest bedrooms and a makeover.

The listed Queens Head is a Robinsons' pub which offers accommodation alongside food and drinks. The brewer said that it had 'invested significant capital' into improving the watering hole.

A spokesperson from Robinsons' said: "The pub maintains its warm feeling with low ceilings, exposed beams and its cosy corners but now boasts a brighter look with lighter wooden features.

"It was important to the brewers to maintain the heritage of the pub and the investment team worked closely with the listed building offices to ensure they preserved the history of the pub."

The brewery said that the design team had 'taken inspiration' from Lakes icons such as William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter in the pub décor.

"For all those getaway lovers, the Queens Head has brand new bedrooms to unwind in and enjoy a night of peace in the tranquillity of the Lakes.

"With brand new bedrooms adjacent to the pub, each room takes inspiration from local nature with botanical wall papers, warm tones and rustic oak woodwork for that traditional farmhouse feel," the spokesperson added.
