SHOTGUN cartridges and a large knife have been seized after a teenager was arrested on suspicion of dealing class A drugs and threats to kill.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested from an address in Saddlers Walk in Blackpole, Worcester, as police conducted a search at another address in the city as part of an ongoing probe.

During their search of the second property in Mulberry Terrace in Tolladine officers seized around 30 shotgun cartridges, a large Punisher knife and four mobile phones which are being forensically analysed as part of an ongoing investigation.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, threats to kill, violent disorder and possession of firearms offences yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. 

He remains in custody while investigations by senior detectives continue.

He has also been arrested on suspicion of the possession of live ammunition (shotgun cartridges).

A scrambler motorbike was also seized as part of the investigation.

DI Dave Knight of South Worcestershire Proactive CID, based at Worcester Police Station in Castle Street, said: "The  County Lines Team work hard to take drug dealers off the streets and bring them to justice through the court process.

"They couldn't do this work without the help of the public reporting to us any drugs activity."

More arrests were made today after a series of warrants the previous week as part of Operation Forefront with some raids involving the use of a chainsaw to gain access to one address in Canterbury Road in Ronkswood, Worcester.

Warrants were also executed at homes in Astwood Road and Tunnel Hill on Wednesday morning after community concerns and intelligence around drugs supply in the area.

Specialist tactical advisers were also at the scene in chemical suits, protective goggles, and face masks to ensure the scene was safe in case of any potential drugs labs at the addresses, of which none were found.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the Tunnel Hill home on suspicion of importing a controlled drug.

A small quantity of drugs, mobile phones, and imitation firearms were recovered from the property.

A second man, 42, was arrested at the Astwood Road home on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs – cannabis.
