A man has been arrested after two separate theft incidents which saw him try and steal a woman's purse and a try and steal money from a man at a cash point.
Officers from Cleveland Police are investigating both incidents, which happened in Loftus on Saturday (November 18).
The first incident occurred at 4pm near Loftus Social Club when a woman was approached by a man who demanded for her to hand over her purse.
The victim refused and ran away.
The second incident occurred at around 4.30pm on West Road at the cash machine at Morrisons.

This incident saw the victim withdraw some cash and a man tried to push him out of the way and take his money.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery in connection with the incidents and has been released on bail pending enquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the incidents or anyone with CCTV/ dash cam footage which shows the incidents is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting 286694.
