This is the moment a police dog led officers to three burglary suspects and prevented them from running away in Seaham early this morning (Thursday, November 16).
Durham Police sprang into action after reports of an attempted burglary in Seaham.
PC Jack Hamilton and his canine colleague PD Rex rushed to scene where a witness described having seen three men attempting to get into a number of garages.
PC Hamilton and his furry companion immediately set out to locate the suspects.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: “PD Rex picked up a scent and led PC Hamilton to a garage containing several motorbikes and the three suspects.
“PC Hamilton and PD Rex stood in the doorway to prevent the suspects from running away and instructed them to get on the floor before calling for backup over his radio.
“The suspects remained still on the floor until response officers arrived to arrest the trio.
