An appeal has been launched today (March 19) after a road rage incident inside a County Durham fast food restaurant car park.

Police are appealing for information following an incident which took place at around 4pm on Friday (March 17).

Consett Police have said this occurred in the car park of McDonald's in Consett.

Officers are seeking anyone that may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage to come forward to assist with their efforts.

In a statement today, a Durham Police spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for information following a road rage incident which occurred at around 16:05 on Friday 17th March 2023.

"The incident occurred in the car park of McDonald's in Consett.

"Officers are keen to speak with anyone that may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage."
