One person was taken to hospital fore treatment after a crash on a North East road.

Ambulance and police services attended the scene on Linthorpe Road, in Middlesbrough, after receiving reports of a collision shortly after 8pm on Saturday (March 18).

A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson confirmed one person had been taken to James Cook University Hospital for further treatment.

Cleveland Police closed the road while the incident was dealt with.

The NEAS deployed one ambulance crew, a specialist paramedic and the Medicar in response to the incident.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, shortly after 8pm last night.

"We dispatched one ambulance crew, a specialist paramedic and the Medicar, and transported one patient to James Cook Hospital for further treatment."
