A busy pub landlord has been forced to close, saying the current climate is unsustainable.

The Three Fiddles in Guisborough is the latest fatality of the hospitality industry following the cost of living crisis after the landlord handed back the keys to the brewery.

In a statement online the owners said the business would be closed until further notice, and that the current climate “took its toll”.

The Fiddles said: “Unfortunately, we are now closed until further notice.

“As everyone knows the current climate is taking its toll on the hospitality industry and has unfortunately took its toll on the fiddles - the bills are just not sustainable to keep the doors open.

“The pub will soon be undergoing some investment from the brewery and will reopen sometime in the next couple of weeks!”

It is the latest venue to close following spiralling costs over the last year.
