A high street giant has lodged plans for a new store in the North East after submitting proposals to council officials for their approval.

Big brand T K Maxx has highlighted its desire to move into an empty site on the Cleveland Retail Park in Middlesbrough after submitting documents to the local authority.

The high street clothes and homewares company has lodged a submission to Redcar and Cleveland Council for new signage; revealing that it is interested in a new store.

The site, located within the busy park, just off the A1085 Trunk Road, will transform the site of the old Outfit store if given permission.

Designs submitted to the council have been lodged to convert the front of the unit with the T K Maxx red and white signage.

According to plans, the store will sell women's clothing, accessories and shoes on the ground floor with men's and children's clothing and homeware on the upper floor.

Through the plans, TK Maxx has also highlighted its intentions of the store having 'click and collect' services.
