A teenager suffered minor injuries after a hit and run crash while crossing the road.
Police have launched an appeal for information into the incident after the 15-year-old crossed the road between Broadway and Sunningdale, Consett.
The car was travelling down Delves Lane at the time and subsequently drove off rather than checking on the welfare of the child.
The child suffered minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police say the incident occurred at around 4pm on Wednesday, December 28.
A statement from the Durham Constabulary added: “We are requesting any witnesses to this incident who may have information leading to the identity of the vehicle and/or the driver to contact Police.
