Two goals from Bakayo Saka, as well as goals from Jude Bellingham, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, and Jack Grealish sealed the emphatic victory for the Three Lions.

However, it wasn’t just the football that caused punters in Bishop Auckland to celebrate – with The Sportsmans Inn offering supporters free shots for every England goal that went in, as well as £2 pints before the first goal went in, two pints for £5 after, and free hot dogs at half time.

As you can imagine, plenty of people turned out to enjoy the deals – and the drinks and food were flowing at the venue, which advertised the ‘unique’ deal at the pub a few hours before kick-off on social media.

Away from Bishop Auckland, fan zones were set up in Newcastle’s Central Park and Darlington Market, where fans enjoyed the England match – with jubilant scenes witnessed during every goal, and at full-time.

Fans were in full voice singing ‘Three Lions’ throughout the match – with choruses of ‘It’s Coming Home’ ringing around North East venues after the game.
