Police have confirmed the tragic death of a baby after a large scale emergency service response. 

The multi service emergency response was called to the Kingswood Bed & Breakfast on Norton Road in Norton, near Stockton, at around 11am on Monday.

Pictures from the scene showed four paramedic cars, an ambulance and a police car.

A helicopter from the Great North Air Ambulance also landed in a nearby field in response to the incident.

In an update on Thursday, a spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "Sadly a baby died at an address in Norton Road following a medical emergency."

The North East Ambulance Service said it had attended the incident, which was classified as "a medical incident at a private address".
