A MAN has died after apparently plunging from the top of a well-known landmark.
The name of the victim, who The Northern Echo understands to be a popular local amateur footballer, has not yet been officially released by the police.
His body was discovered at the bottom of the Leven Viaduct, in Yarm, near Middlesbrough around 6am today.
It is understood a member of the public raised the alarm.
