A man was left unconscious and has his phone and jewellery stolen after being assaulted outside of a North East court.

The incident happened at around 7.15pm on Wednesday, September 7 in Mima Square outside of Teesside Crown Court.

A 34-year-old man was assaulted and his phone, along with jewellery, were stolen in the incident.

Police are appealing for information on the suspect, who has been described as six-foot and seven-inches tall, of a large build with short, dark hair shaven on the sides.

He was seen wearing a red and blue hooded jacket and dark green shorts and made off from the scene on a motorbike following the incident.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have further information is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101, quoting incident number 160690.
