A FORMER member of staff from Barchester Healthcare’s Threshfield Court care home in Skipton will be taking on the Great North Run on September 11 to raise money for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
A great friend of the home, Sara Baraclough, will don her Lycra, put on her trainers and use grit and determination to complete the 13.1 mile half marathon course that starts in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Sara worked for Threshfield Court for 8.5 years as activities coordinator. A keen runner, Sara has been training hard with her golden Labrador running partner, Connie and she has already completed two half marathons and a 9k hill race in preparation.
Sara said: “This is my first ever major race and I’m really excited to take part. I have been running for about three years and I absolutely love it, I’m hoping to raise lots of money for the Foundation. I know all the staff, residents and relatives at Threshfield Court are behind me and their support plus the money I’m raising will help me get round the course.”
