Today temperatures are set steadily rise as the North East braces itself for another heatwave this week – here’s how hot it will get every hour.

The Met Office has revealed that today will be largely sunny day, although hazy at times due to thin layers of high cloud.

Light winds will mean the day feels warm with much of the region experiencing a maximum temperature of 26c.

It comes as this week temperatures could reach 28c in some areas as another heatwave makes its way across the North East.

Despite there being some early mist and fog on Wednesday morning, this will clear quickly, leaving a warm day with unbroken sunshine for many.

In Darlington tomorrow, temperatures will reach as high as 28c at some points, with unbroken sunshine throughout.

In Newton Aycliffe the picture is the same with 28c predicted during mid afternoon and bring sunshine for the rest of the period.
