As many in the region wake up to sunny and bright weather, we’ve had a look at the forecast to see when exactly the hot weather will hit.
The Met Office has revealed that today there will be a bright start for many in the region, however cloud will develop through the morning.
However, dry conditions will remain leading to hazy sunshine and a maximum temperature of 24c today.
The heatwave is expected to peak as the week progresses with some areas of the region set to see temperatures as high as 28c on Thursday.
It comes as people have reported being unable to sleep during the spell of warmer weather.

Patchy cloud is possible leading to some hazy sunshine at times and a maximum temperature of 25c for the region.
In Darlington tomorrow, temperatures could reach as high as 24c during the afternoon.
Temperatures in Durham tomorrow could reach a little bit higher with peaks of 25c, and in Middlesbrough temperatures will also reach highs of 25c throughout much of the afternoon.
