GOLFERS have been invited to join in an annual corporate golf day which has raised thousands for a North-East hospice.

The Butterwick Hospice Care Annual Charity Golf Day raised more than £17,000 for the charity last September, and organisers are hoping that this year’s event will raise even more for the Stockton and Bishop Auckland-based charity.

Fundraiser Ashleigh Wood said: “The annual golf day is always a fantastic opportunity for our amazing corporate supporters to come together and enjoy a great day out.

“We’re so grateful for the incredible support the North-East business community provides to Butterwick Hospice Care – without their backing, the hospice wouldn’t exist.

“With their help, we want to make this the biggest and best Butterwick golf day ever.”

The event will be held at Wynyard Golf Club on Thursday, September 1. Teams of four will be greeted with brunch on arrival, before playing a shotgun start on the club’s championship Wellington Course.

Players will also have the chance to compete in Longest Drive, Nearest to the Pin, and Beat the Pro contests, before enjoying a two-course evening meal at the end of the day.

  • Entry costs £480 per team of four, and numerous sponsorship opportunities are available. Places are limited, so early booking is recommended. For more information, email the Fundraising team at fundraising@butterwick.org.uk or call 01642 628930.
