The body of a woman has been found at a property in County Durham.
Officers from Durham Police were called to an address in Oswald Court, Durham, in the early hours of Thursday (August 4) morning after reports that a woman had been found unresponsive.
After arriving on the scene, specialist officers found a 40-year-old woman dead inside the property.
An investigation into the incident has been launched - with crime scene investigators seen at the property for most of the day on Thursday.

On Friday (August 5), Durham Police confirmed the death of the woman and said that it is not being treated as suspicious.
A file will now be made for the coroner.
As it stands, the force has not released details on the woman's identity.
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "Police attended an address in Oswald Court, in Durham, in the early hours of yesterday morning (August 4) following reports that a woman had been found unresponsive.
"Sadly a 40-year-old woman was found dead inside the property on arrival. Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
