The North East Ambulance Service have provided an update following a big emergency service presence in a County Durham town.
Dramatic images at Seaham, County Durham this evening revealed multiple emergency services at the cliffside.
Police, ambulance, an incident unit along with a coastguard cliff rescue team were pictured.
The North East Ambulance Service revealed that the response was due to a welfare incident at the cliffs.

However, it was revealed that a woman, thought to have fallen and been injured, was in fact climbing the cliffside.
A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 5.06pm, for what was believed to be a person who had fallen down the cliff.
“We dispatched hazardous area response teams, ambulances, two paramedics ambulance, the air ambulance and also a clinical team leader.

“All of the support units were stood down as it turned out that someone had been climbing up the cliffs and they were rescued by the coastguard.
“There were no injuries.”
