Crowds will descend on the County Durham coastline this weekend for the return of the Seaham Food Festival.

The event, being organised by Durham County Council, will take place on Saturday and Sunday (August 6-7) with thousands expected to attend.

Food-lovers will be able to browse around 100 stalls, street food vendors and bars, or watch as a star-studded line up of celebrity chefs perform cooking demonstrations on stage.

And there’s some good news for visitors who will be hoping the weather stays dry and sunny for the outdoor event.

Here is a full forecast for Seaham this weekend, as of August 3.

What will the weather be like on Saturday August 6?

On Saturday forecasters predict Seaham will be sunny first thing, clouding over by mid-morning.

According to the Met Office, temperatures will be fine for the County Durham event, with highs of 18C at 4pm and lows of 13C.

There is just a 10% chance of rain between 1pm and 4pm, with and even lower chance of showers in the morning. There will be light winds of less than 10mph all day.

UV levels are expected to be medium so visitors may wish to take sunscreen if they are planning to spend the day at the event.

What will the weather be like on Sunday August 7?

It is expected to be a similar picture on Sunday with a sunny start and cloud moving in in the afternoon.

Temperatures will hit highs of 19C, with lots of just 13C, according to the Met Office.

UV levels are set to be high on Sunday with sunny spells throughout the morning and the most intense UV at 1pm.

Rain is expected to hold off for the food festival with less than a 5% chance of showers all day.
