The award-winning Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park near Ripon has created a new garden structure for families to enjoy and interact with this summer.

The garden is well-known for its Himalayan-style planting but is also home to over 80 contemporary sculptures made from a variety of mediums including materials inspired by nature.

The new Yeti Den adds a fun twist for families to engage with sculpture set in the landscape.

Jago Wallace, garden supervisor and Yeti Den builder said: “This summer we want families to really engage with the sculptures in the garden and what better way then to create a living den for them to shelter in and listen to the wildlife around them.

"For a bit of fun, we will be asking the children to help make and decorate the Yeti Den with Tibetan prayer flags and build a big stone cairn using painted stones”.

The Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park is home to over 80 striking contemporary sculptures, situated within 45 acres of stunning woodland and gardens.

The microclimate of the valley makes it fertile ground for the rare Meconopsis blue poppy, alongside the North’s largest collection of rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias.

The Sculpture Park features works by internationally renowned artists, all inspired by nature and is open to the public from April 12 to October 30 in 2022.
