A County Durham music festival has announced its line-up including a local star fresh from Glastonbury.

Burnhopeside Hall, Durham is set to host the Scoop Music Festival later this month with organisers planning a weekend full of music, food, and family entertainment.

The festival will take place over two days at the end of the month and will see a variety of local acts play to crowds in the village of Lanchester.

Organisers have now confirmed the line up for the festival on July 29 and 30, including one local artist fresh from performing at Glastonbury.

Durham based singer songwriter Hayley McKay, NE Magazine Artist of the Year 2021 and Hot Country TV Awards UK Entertainer of the Year, has been added as the final addition to the line-up.

She played the Mandala stage at the iconic music festival on Thursday June 23.

Also on the setlist are acclaimed Mumford and Sons tribute band, Chasing Mumford, R.E.M tribute band Stripe, The Skapones and The National Anthems.

Scoop has also announced a Secret Forest Stage where festival-goers will be able to listen to deep house and enjoy scenic views.

Founded in 2018 by Tristan Raine, Scoop Music Festival aims to celebrate outstanding regional talent in an area of outstanding local beauty. Organisers say it is about supporting established and emerging talent and providing an exciting and unique platform for artists.

The event is being held, for the first time, at Burnhopeside Hall, a World Heritage site with 18 acres of gardens and over 475 acres of woodland.

Tickets are now on sale for anyone wanting to attend the event and camping and glamping options are available.
