Flowers have been left at the scene of a fatal collision that killed a popular County Durham dad at the end of last week.

Aaron Morris, 31, died following a collision when his motorbike was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Crossland in Esh Winning.

The collision happened on Priestburn Close, Esh Winning just after 12.30pm on Friday, July 1.

Mr Morris was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham but died several hours.

In the aftermath of the “treasured” family man’s death, his wife Samantha gave a touching tribute to her husband, which described him as a “true family man”.

She said: “Aaron was a true family man and treasured by all those who knew and loved him.

“He was a much-loved husband, son, father, and brother, and will be sadly missed by us all.

“We wish to thank everyone for their support and ask now to be left in peace so that we can grieve together.”

Alongside the tributes from his family, flowers and tributes were seen at the crash site on Monday (July 4) in Esh Winning.

Floral pieces, cards and tribute notes lined a fence next to where Mr Morris lost his life on Priestburn Close.

Durham Police are currently investigating the two-car crash on Friday.

Collision investigators would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have any dashcam footage relating to the collision.
