Two men have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap after reports of another man falling from a moving vehicle.

An investigation is underway into the incident.

Police were called to the Coast Road in Wallsend last night, shortly after 7.30pm.

It was reported a man had fallen from a moving vehicle.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said a 34-year-old man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

His condition is currently described as critical but stable. 

Two men aged 48 and 18 have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and are currently in police custody.

An investigation has been launched and officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to get in contact by calling 101 quoting log NP-20220701-0981 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
