An appeal has been launched after part of a Darlington school was left damaged and burned down.
The incident happened at Rydal Academy in Darlington as pictures have revealed the extent of the damage.
Police said they believe the suspect set fire to the fence, which is located on the school grounds, and then made off.
It occurred sometime on Sunday, June 19.

The school, which is in Rydal Road, said a section of the nursery's fence and a statue of a bear was destroyed.
In a post on social media, the school said: "This fire could easily have caused significant damage to the entire school site had the fire brigade not attended the scene and got the fire under control. Thank you to the members of the public who reported it."
Officers from Durham Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Robson on 101 quoting incident number 147 of June 20.
