A Teesside food blogger has claimed to have created the world’s first McParmo after cheekily asking fast-food workers to customise his meal to fit the specification of the North East delicacy.
Craig Harker, who goes by the online name of Dad Loves Food, was travelling in the car with his children earlier this week when he drove to a Mcdonald's for their dinner.
After initially ordering an Italian stack, the flood blogger says that his eyes lit up when he was told that the new fast-food burger contained bechamel sauce; an ingredient that is vital to making Parmos and the only one that wasn’t usually available at Mcdonald's.

Speaking to The Northern Echo, Mr Harker explained: “I first went to review the new Italian stack on the menu and asked what was on it.
“When she replied bechamel sauce, my eyes lit up straight away knowing that bechamel sauce was the only ingredient ever missing on the McDonald’s menu.
“Going back round, I had to try and create a McParmo!”
Queuing in the drive-thru again, Mcdonald's workers reportedly didn’t question the ‘bizarre’ request and created the McParmo; giving Mr Harker what he believes is the first of its kind in the world.
What made the new creation even sweeter, according to the food blogger, was the fact that he’d been on a vlogging trip for 20 days to Turkey, making it more important for him to get his Parmo fix.
For those that are asking exactly what Mr Harker ordered – it was a mcChicken sandwich, no, lettuce, no mayo but added bechamel sauce and cheese.
Mr Harker, who boasts over 20,000 followers on social media, is accustomed to trying and testing a wide range of foods, sometimes across the world, but he has now highlighted his happiness at finding the McParmo on his doorstep.
He added: “To my astonishment, they served me the world’s first McParmo.
“It had everything needed to create a parmo, chicken deep fried with a coating, a tasty bechamel sauce and cheese too, finally the Teesside delay had made it to the UK menu of McDonald’s and now everyone in the country can go and sample one until the limited menu ends.
“Parmos are huge in Teesside with so many amazing takeaways and restaurants serving them but now anyone can try one at McDonald’s and are always ten minutes from one.”
For those that are starting to question whether the McParmo tastes like the real thing? The man himself has confirmed that it does, with Mr Harker telling The Northern Echo: “Yes it does and the bechamel is nicer than some local places but unfortunately having a slice of cheese is the only downside to this but not off-putting.
“Now imagine if McDonald’s released the McParmo to the world or even a Big Mac parmo? One can only dream.”
