Police are becoming concerned for the welfare of a missing 15-year-old girl who they believe is trying to “travel out of the area.”

Sophia Kilkerri, also known as Jay, went missing while she was trying to travel out of Middlesbrough towards Greater Manchester, police have said.

Officers have asked people to look out for Sophia on bus network, particularly at Middlesbrough bus station.

She has been described as white, pale complexion, dark hair in a bob to her chin and she will likely be wearing glasses.

She is five-feet and one-inch tall and wearing black leggings and a black long sleeved hoodie and currently has a backpack with her.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Anyone who has seen Sophia or has information to assist police is asked to call 101, reference 109141.”
