Police are investigating after two 14-year-old girls were attacked inside a North East McDonalds – leaving the teenage pair with injuries to their arms and legs.

Officers from Northumbria Police are looking into the report of an assault, which happened at around 9pm on April 23 this year – which saw the two 14-year-olds attacked by a group of women.   

At around 9pm on April 23, it was reported two 14-year-old girls had been at McDonald’s on Northumberland Street, Newcastle, when they were approached by a group of women they did not know, and then assaulted.

The victims sustained minor injuries to their arms and legs and reported the matter to police.

An investigation was launched as part of their enquiries, and officers have already spoken to several witnesses and reviewed CCTV of the incident.

They are now asking anyone who might have been in the area the time to get in touch.

Police have also issued photographs of two women who were in the area at the time of the incident and may have information which can assist.
