Dozens of Northern Echo readers have left messages of condolences following the death of a 25-year-old woman.

Natalie Marshall died after the car she was driving left the road and collided with a tree near Darlington on Friday.

Her friends and family have been left devastated by the tragedy, which has shocked the community. 

Many tributes have been left to Natalie, who was described by family as hard-working and selfless, and as someone who could light up any room she walked into.

Flowers, balloons, pictures and messages have been left at the side of the A167 near Coatham Munderville, where the crash happened at about 3.15am on Friday.

Another man, who is in his 20s, was seriously injured in the collision and was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
