A DARLINGTON man was fined after causing a disturbance at the town’s hospital.

Matthew McKenna, of Grange Road, Darlington, was arrested after causing a disturbance at Darlington Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 6.

The 26-year-old was charged with causing a nuisance or disturbance to an NHS worker who was working there.

He refused to leave after being asked by a member of staff.

He was also found to have a quantity of cannabis in his possession.

McKenna appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 13.

He pleaded guilty to two offences and was fined £120.

An order to destroy the drugs was granted and he was also told to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.
