Excitement is building ahead of Elton John’s Sunderland gig at the Stadium of Light on Sunday evening (June 19).

He is currently performing his Farewell Yellow Brick Road show, billed as his final ever tour, to fans across the country and will visit Sunderland for one night only this weekend.

It will be the last time he plays in the North East, with around 30,000 fans expected to descend on the Sunderland stadium to watch the music legend perform some of the biggest hits from his repertoire.

There will be no support act at the show, which is expected to start at 7pm, to allow Elton extra time to perform his fan-favourites.

Here is the set list Elton is expected to play on Sunday night, based on his previous gigs, but this is liable to change:

  • Bennie and the Jets
  • All the Girls Love Alice
  • I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues
  • Border Song
  • Tiny Dancer
  • Philadelphia Freedom
