A NORTH EAST woman accused of murdering a young boy in a bungalow is to appear in court this afternoon.

Carol Hodgson is accused of killing two-year-old Daniel James Hodgson Green following an incident in a North East bungalow in February this year.

The 39-year-old was arrested and charged after Cleveland Police attended the property on Upper Garth Gardens, in Guisborough, following a report of a concern for safety at 10.07am on February 2.

At a previous hearing, Teesside Crown Court heard how she had indicated that there will be an admission that she was 'criminally responsible for the death of Daniel'.

The case was adjourned last month after Richard Wright QC told the judge that he anticipated that pathology and psychiatric reports would be completed in time for today's hearing.

The toddler was taken to hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead later that day.

A week after the toddler's death, around 100 people including family members and friends gathered with flowers, balloons, candles and cuddly toys to remember two-year-old.
