Some of the biggest names in the UK music scene are playing in the region this week. Here is what you can expect from the Rock N Roll Circus in Newcastle.

Thousands of fans are expected to come together on Thursday and Saturday two days of world-class music and circus performances in the big top on the Town Moor.

The running order for the two dates have also been shared which will see indie icons Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Charlatans, The Libertines and DMA’s hit the huge stage.

The line ups will also feature some of the top up and coming artists including Australian dance-pop duo Confidence Man and Sheffield rockers The Reytons, along with local favourites Andrew Cushin and Zela.

Aside from its star-studded bill of music legends, Rock N Roll Circus will also be welcoming some of the country’s best circus performers and incredible food vendors.

What to expect

The all-new touring concept mixes live music with the fanfare of circus. There will be dozens of circus entertainers performing across the site, audiences can expect a party like no other with breathtaking experiences inspired by the flamboyance of Las Vegas.

The acclaimed performance company Circus Antics will bring aerial artists, stilt walkers, acrobats and much more to the events this week.

The circus acts will be found across the site, with acrobats, fire performers and hula hooping acts welcoming arrivals and a pair of aerial artists performing within the Big Top itself.

Merlin Bolton Smyth of Circus Antics said: “It's a mix of good music and fun circus and I think that's its unique selling poin.

“It’s something amazing to look at and something amazing to listen to. You won't be disappointed when you get your ticket.”

The company’s founder Alice Newton added. “There'll be lots of lots of entertainment and loads of things to come and do and see. We can’t wait.”

Is food and drink available?

Rock N Roll Circus will host a range of street food stalls and trucks, including the North East’s favourite burger joint Fat Hippo, Spud Gun Loaded Fries, gourmet hot dog maker Dognbon and parmo aficionados Parm-O-Rama.

What about accessibility?

The Rock N Roll Circus has gone to lengths to ensure the site is as accessible as possible.

Tickets for Thursday are £60.50 while tickets for Saturday cost £52.20.
