A 35-year-old man has appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court this afternoon (June 7) charged with the murder of Mark Robinson almost two years after he died.
Mr Robinson was the victim of a serious assault at a property in Station Road, Redcar, in July 2020.
Raymond Whincup made a brief appearance before being remanded in custody to appear before Teesside Crown Court tomorrow (June 8).
The accused spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
The 40-year-old suffered a head injury and required lengthy hospital treatment and then full-time care until he sadly passed away on August 5, 2021.
In July 2020, two men, aged 33 and 45, were arrested on suspicion of assaulting Mr Robinson. They were both released under investigation.
