THESE are all the people in the North East who were charged after stealing items from Tesco in the last two months.

These offences usually consist of theft and can usually land people with fines, however, sometimes people can be put behind bars as well.

We’ve pulled together all the people who were charged with theft from the supermarket giant's various stores across the region.

Jimmy Fredrick Dungey, 35 of Barningham Street in Darlington

Dungey’s case was heard before North Yorkshire Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 26.

He was charged with stealing alcohol from a Tesco store in Northallerton, as well as stealing alcohol from a Co-Op in Leyburn on two separate occasions.

Dungey pleaded guilty to the offence and was committed to prison for 8 weeks and was made to pay £128 to victim services.

Steve Green, 44 of Millbrook Avenue in Middlesbrough

Green’s case was heard before Cleveland Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 12.

He was fined £80 after being charged with stealing a boy’s boxer shorts from Tesco in Billingham.

Green pleaded guilty to the offence and was mad to pay £34 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

Zoe Louise Postgate, 35 of Branksome Green in Darlington

Postgate’s case was heard before North Yorkshire Magistrates Court on March 4.

She was charged after stealing alcohol to the value of £250 from Tesco in Northallerton and £155 worth of meat from M&S in Northallerton

She also stole alcohol from a Co-Op in Leyburn on three separate occasions, one time stealing £294 worth.

She also stole more alcohol and chocolate from Low Gates Service Station in Northallerton, £361 worth of alcohol from Mainsgill Farm Shop in East Layton, £221.50 worth of alcohol from a Co-Op in Bedale and meat from M&S in Northallerton.

She pleaded guilty to all the offences and was given a community order and made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 to crown prosecution service.

Leanne Thompson, 45 of Eldon Street in Darlington

Thompson’s case was heard before North Yorkshire Magistrates Court on March 4.

She was charged after stealing alcohol to the value of £250 from Tesco in Northallerton, as well as £361 worth of alcohol from Mainsgill Farm Shop, £221 worth of alcohol from a Co-Op in Bedale, meat and other items from an M&S in Northallerton, alcohol from a Co-Op in Leyburn on three separate occasions.

She was also charged with stealing meat to the value of £155 from an M&S in Northallerton.

She pleaded guilty to all offences and was given a community order as well as made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

Thomas Dodd, 62 of Greenwell Street in Darlington

Dodd’s case was heard before County Durham and Darlington Magistrates Court on March 17.

He was charged with stealing alcohol from Tesco in Darlington on two occasions while also serving a conditional discharge.

He pleaded guilty to the offences and was given a community order and made to pay £1 to victim services.

John Walker, 23 of Fransham Road in Middlesbrough

Walker’s case was heard before Cleveland Magistrates Court on March 22.

He was charged with theft after stealing alcohol to the value of £625 from Tesco in York.

He was also charged with attempted theft after trying to steal £760.25 worth of items from Morrisons in York, £470 worth of items from Morrisons in Harrogate, £600 worth of items from Sainsbury’s in Harrogate, £700 worth of items from Morrisons in York and £726.13 worth of items from Morrisons in York again.

Walker was committed to prison for 20 weeks as a result of the offences.

Katie Marie McCabe, 28 of Beckenham Gardens in Middlesbrough

McCabe’s case was heard before Cleveland Magistrates Court on March 16.

She was charged with theft after stealing £586.85 worth of items from Tesco in Coulby Newham.

She also committed the offence while serving a conditional discharge.

McCabe pleaded guilty to the offence and was given a community order and made to pay £95 to victim services.
