A MAN is due to appear at crown court charged with wounding and knife possession after an incident outside a popular nightclub at the weekend.
Hassan Farah, of Vulcan Way, Thornaby appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Monday in connection with an incident in the early hours of Sunday.
The 31-year-old has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place and section 18 wounding.
It follows an incident on Yarm High Street outside The Keys nightclub.
No plea was entered at the brief hearing.
A man, 26, was taken to James Cook Hospital, in Middlesbrough, with “serious” injuries.
Cleveland Police and three crews from the North East Ambulance Service rushed to the scene.

Police officers erected a cordon outside the venue, and crime scene investigators worked throughout Sunday morning collecting evidence.
Three people were arrested in connection with the attack just after 1.10am. A man and woman have been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
