A DANCER from Thirsk with a cochlear implant who describes her dating life as “a shambles” is among the newly-announced line-up for Love Island this year.

Tasha Ghouri, from Thirsk, North Yorkshire, said she was heading into the villa in the hope of finding “the one.”

The 23-year-old, who also models, said her family and friends would describe her as a “party animal” as she gets wild on a night out.

However, she also inspires others as she is open about her hearing challenges and her need for a cochlear implant.

Ms Ghouri also admitted that she is a “girls’ girl” and was prepared to step on a few toes “in the nicest way possible” in her quest to find a man.

She will be joining a group of contestants when the popular ITV2 series returns on Monday (June 6) at 9pm.

Another contestant is 27-year-old Davide Snaclimenti from Rome, and 23-year-old Indiyah Polack.

This year, new contestants will enter a new villa in Majorca as the previous property near Sant Llorenc des Cardassar, in the east of the Spanish island has become unavailable for the forthcoming series.

Laura Whitmore is set to return as host for the series, which is available to watch on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
