THE organisers of Teesside Airshow say they are taking measures to prevent people from parking on the side of the road next to the venue.

People without tickets who are hoping to catch a glimpse of the legendary Red Arrows will not be able to stop on the A67.

Organisers say in previous years the road has become dangerous due to the number of people stopping near the airport.

In the past, hundreds of people have parked there, causing a hazard to other road users.

It means the roadside will be coned off, with signs explaining to people that their cars will be towed if they are parked there.

The Northern Echo:

Organisers are remaining tight-lipped about when displays will take place on the day.

The gates open at 10am, with the first displays set to start at 12noon.

All of the ground attractions will be open from 10am.

The show is set to finish at 5.30pm.

The exact timings will be published in the airshow brochure on the day.

This year's airshow takes place on Saturday, June 11.

The programme will include the Red Arrows display team, which will be joined by Flight Lt Adam O’Hare demonstrating the power of his Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight team bringing a Spitfire and Hurricane and a display by the RAF Falcons – the UK’s premier military parachute display team.

There is also a range of other entertainment and exhibitions on the ground.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £10 per adult, (16 and over) and £5 per child (15 and under). A family ticket, consisting of two adults and two children, will be £25 and there is free entry for those aged under six.
