A CAR crashed into a house in a County Durham village as the dramatic aftermath were captured on video by a passenger on a bus.

Emergency services called out to the A177 Shincliffe Bank after the crash at about 7.45pm on Tuesday (May 24).

As a result, the road was closed just after Willow Tree Avenue in Shincliffe, near Durham while emergency services attended the scene.

The scene of the crash, captured on a camera by a passenger in a passing bus, showed a black car with a severely damaged front end and brick debris strewn across the road. 

A North East Ambulance Service said: "We received a call to 999 on Tuesday at 7.46pm to reports of a road traffic collision between a vehicle and a wall on Willow Tree Avenue in Shincliffe Durham.

"We sent a rapid response paramedic who attended and stood down on scene."

A Durham Police spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a car colliding with a wall in Willow Tree Avenue, in Shincliffe, at about 7.50pm."

No one is believed to have been injured.
