A CRASH on Derby Avanue in Middlesbrough has left a six-year-old boy in hospital.

At 6.15pm last night (Thursday May 19) police were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a child on Derby Avenue.

As a result of the crash a the boy has suffered serious injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Police would like to thank the members of the public who assisted at the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses who have not already spoken to police to contact them. They are also requesting any dashcam or CCTV footage which may assist them.

The car involved in the collision is reported to be a silver Ford Focus, which was being driven along Derby Avenue from the direction of Bruce Avenue.
