DARLINGTON Arts Festival is back this weekend, showcasing the best arts organisations in the area.

The festival is organised by Darlington For Culture and involves drama, music, art exhibitions and an artisan market.

Different theatre groups will be performing at various venues in the town including Darlington Green Theatre, Bondgate Players and No Name Theatre.

There will be a giant marquee for sellers and exhibitors Friday, Saturday and Sunday alongside a variety of locations for performances and workshops throughout the town centre.

Events start today (Friday, May 20) with live music from Kossoff – The Band Plays On will be on at The Forum this evening at 9:30pm, and a Pink Floyd tribute on the following day (May 21).

No Name Theatre has two short play readings on Saturday, May 21 at the Friends' Meeting House, on Skinnergate, one about three village committee members planning a Victory Over Covid party, and another about pantomime characters squabbling.

An art exhibition will be held in the Friends' Community Hub (former Footprints bookshop) on Skinnergate. There will be a number of local artists displaying their work including.

At the Friends’ Meeting House there will also be music from Eve Conway as seen on Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2019 on Saturday, May 21.

To finish the weekend off, Darlington Artisan Market will be on East Row on Sunday, May 22.
