When it comes to bedrooms in a house, three is the magic number.

The combination of affordability and flexibility makes the three-bedroom home the perfect choice for a wide range of modern buyers.

Growing families may need to utilise all three upstairs rooms as bedrooms, couples working from home can create an office, and downsizers may choose to use the extra room as a dressing area.

A selection of three-bedroom properties which score highly when it comes to both affordability and flexibility are currently available at Bellway Durham’s Wellfield Rise development in Wingate – and all will be ready to move into this summer.

The Northern Echo:

The developer is building 250 new homes at the site off Wellfield Road in the village.

Among the homes being built there are The Turner and The Tailor – both three-bedroom semi-detached house designs.

In addition to its three bedrooms upstairs, The Turner has a ground floor layout which is ideal for modern lifestyles. There is a spacious kitchen, a cloakroom and a large open-plan living/dining area which leads through a projected bay window with French doors onto the back garden.

The Northern Echo:

The Tailor has a slightly different layout which features an open-plan kitchen-diner with French doors to the rear garden and a separate lounge at the front of the property.

Both The Turner, priced at £179,995, and The Tailor, available at £171,995, come in below the regional Help to Buy price cap of £186,100 for the North East. This means first-time buyers can secure one of these homes with just a five per cent deposit by using the Government scheme.

The initiative provides a 20 per cent equity loan, interest free for the first five years, towards the purchase of a new home, meaning buyers only need to secure a 75 per cent mortgage.

The Northern Echo:

For buyers at Wellfield Rise who have an existing property to sell, Bellway is offering two other initiatives - Express Mover and Part Exchange - to help make that dream move a reality.

Under the Express Mover scheme, Bellway will work with a local estate agent to agree a valuation on a customer’s home and help to find a buyer quickly. Bellway will pay the agent’s fees and liaise with them until the sale is completed.

Part Exchange sees Bellway offer a customer a fair price on their existing property, based on independent valuations. The customer is then free to move into their brand-new home free from the worry of selling their old home or becoming caught up in lengthy and stressful property chains.
