ALMOST 100 fire engines and vintage vehicles will be on display when a show makes its return next month.

Preston Park Fire Engine and Vintage Vehicle Show takes place on June 25 and 26.

Stockton Council’s event team and Teesside Airport Fire Engine Rally (TAFER) volunteers will be staging the show after a three year break.

It was cancelled in 2019 due to water logged car parks and in 2020 and 2021 as a result of the pandemic.

A show spokesperson said: “We are all looking forward to welcoming exhibitors and visitors back for a fun packed weekend over the last weekend in June 2022 at the wonderful setting of Preston Park and Museum.”

Almost 100 preserved and operational fire appliances will be displayed alongside other vintage vehicles at the Yarm Road park along with programme of arena events, which will help raise funds for the Firefighters Charity.

This year is the 40th anniversary of TAFER’s first fire engine rally in 1982, which was held at Teesside Airport before moving to Preston Park in 1989.

It is the longest established fire engine rally in the UK.
