A CRASH between two cars caused disruption on the busy A688 between Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland on Friday morning (May 13).

Emergency services were alerted after the collision at Binchester Services at about 11am, with the AA reporting tailbacks along the road.

No one was hurt in the collision, which created debris in the road.

Traffic returned to normal after the cars were removed and the debris cleared. 

A Durham Police spokesperson said: "We were alerted just before noon to a two car road traffic collision on the A688 at Binchester.

"No one was injured and there were no road closures, but there was debris on the road. The drivers exchanged details and the cars were recovered by 12.10pm."
